Our 2010 programme includes visits to gardens in Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Monmouthshire, Oxfordshire, Sussex, Wiltshire and Yorkshire. We hope that you will find plenty to tempt you.
Our tours start at 9.20am when we travel together in a coach to see our first garden. Each day will end at approximately 5.30 when the coach will return you to your cars. You will be looked after by me, James Bolton, and Sophia Wright, who has assisted me with my tours for a number of years.
We will start the day with coffee and biscuits, there will be a 2 course lunch and usually the day will end with tea. There will be an opportunity on most days to buy plants from the gardens or from a local nursery.
I have selected the gardens for the Border Lines days because of their quality of design or planting, and occasionally for their history. We will visit the gardens with the owner or in some cases their head gardener, who will give you an insight into design, planting and maintenance. I hope that you will agree with me that they represent the best in contemporary gardening. I am hugely excited by them and deeply grateful to all the garden owners for sharing them with us.
The first tour under the Border Lines Abroad banner will be an Autumn Weekend for the Plant Fair at Courson and Gardens near Fountainebleau departing on Thursday 14th September and returning Saturday 16th October 2010. For more details and the booking form.
